The Broken Woman; Different

At 60km speed, Sharon drove like a mad man chasing nothing as tears dropped down her face blurring her vision she blinked to get a clearer picture of the road.

“Stop crying” she told her self “it’s not worth it”. Withholding back a tear she gave her self a pep-talk looking at the rear view mirror she said “ you’re beautiful, you’re going to be everything you have ever dreamt of and more, you are going to be fine you’ve got this. It worked for some minutes because the tears had pretended to stop rolling down her cheeks. She saw a park that had a relaxation spot, then it dawned on her that this was the first place she had seen him but they had not met at the time. The tears gushed out in a marathon needing expression. This time Sharon allowed them.

The Broken woman : Stranger Things.

With brown skin almost like that of Sharon but Sharon was a bit lighter, due to the moisturizer she constantly applied on her body. Darell was almost a six ft tall with slightly broad shoulders that spelt modeling wouldn’t be such a bad idea. He was an Engineer with his love for arts drawing him into other aspects.

Being together for so long, Sharon and Darell became a part of each other’s life that they felt they couldn’t function without the other, at least that was what Sharon thought.

Swallowing a lot from Darell since he picked up a new girl Mercy. Sharon’s patience ran thin, feeling helpless at some point she reminded herself of the promises she made affirming them as she nodded her head taking a bite from the bread she was having for breakfast she sipped on her now cold tea, that had watched her wallow in thoughts for while.

Voicing her discomforts Darrell made her seemed as though she was over reacting and trying to make trouble.

“Is anything going on between the two of you? Sharon asked looking straight into Darell’s eyes, searching, as if she would see through his soul.
“No he answered” nothing is going on”.

Unsatisfied with his answer Sharon continued to stare and then he said.
“You are just worried over nothing”.
“It does not look and feel like nothing, whenever you are in the house you spend time on calls just to the same person Sharon started and wanted to continue but Darell’s look shut her up immediately.

Coming home a bit earlier than usual, Sharon noticed Darells car in the drive way as she parked hers close to it. She stepped out excited, they had been spending more time together recently so a part of her felt a tinge of hurt that he didn’t call to tell her he was home early. Shaking off the feeling she walked toward the door as she opened she picked up a scent it was fruity with a sharp tinge of something she could not quite place.

There was nobody in the living room Sharon noticed and called out to Darell. There was no response, maybe he was fast asleep she told herself, moving towards the room she reached for the doorknob as she opened.

Shock and resignation took over her expression as she muttered “just leave”.

This time she had lost her strength to say or do anything. Darrell was In sweats as mercy stood up to leave, adjusting her clothes.

“Don’t, don’t go”, Darell said as he stood up moving towards mercy, Sharon watched in amazement despite all her bones felt like shredding him to threads.
He then turned to her and said “ we need to talk”, in front of her Sharon asked with an expression indicating that Darell had better been joking and he answered “Yes”.

“Well”, Sharon continued I’m not having a conversation with her in the room. Everything Darell was saying was not going through her ears she just wanted Mercy gone. That was when he dropped the bomb, if she leaves I’m leaving too.

Inner strength
We are often zapped of energy from situations around us and sometimes we feel so drained that we think we can’t move on and even if we wanted to we had zero thoughts on how to. Well that’s just us being human but there more to us that what we see and feel. We only need to come to the realization that it doesn’t matter what life throws at us we are going to come out stronger, not because it looks like it but because it’s who we are. Stronger that’s who we are.

  1. First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head
before writing. I have had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting
my ideas out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
    Appreciate it!

    1. Hi Prince, thanks a lot. Basically, the centring comes way before the whole draft comes into play. Literally, as a creative, a lot of things inspire your writing. Always ensure you scribble out those few words.
For instance, I’m trying to cross a road but I come across a man who is blind and doing the same thing I’m about to do “cross the road”. Watching his movements are words if you were to describe them to someone.

Sometimes, you just need to picture that you’re describing or telling someone an even incident or a tale.
Plus there’s no perfect way to start, just do. You improve your skill by constantly writing, that’s how you grow
